How I serve Dallas

Managed IT Services & IT Support in Dallas, TX

I am Anthony Omini, and Cross River Tech is my small managed IT company based in Dallas, TX 75215, on the south side of Downtown near the Cedars. If you run a small business anywhere in Dallas County and you want your computers, network, email and phones handled by someone who knows your setup and answers the phone, that is what I do. I plan the work and stay your point of contact; my team handles the routine monitoring and updates behind me. Most support happens remotely, because it is faster for you and cheaper than a truck roll. When something needs hands on it, I come to your office by appointment, and same-day visits are often possible inside the city.

Dallas is a big place with very different kinds of offices. Law firms and financial offices in the towers Downtown and along Uptown. Agencies, startups and creative shops in converted buildings in Deep Ellum and the Cedars. Showrooms and design studios in the Design District. Dental and medical practices, insurance agencies and family businesses spread along Central Expressway, the Dallas North Tollway and LBJ Freeway in North Dallas. Churches, nonprofits and trade businesses in South Dallas and Oak Cliff. I support all of them the same way: a fixed monthly fee per user or per device, month-to-month, cancel anytime, or plain hourly help when that is all you need.

This page explains how I serve Dallas specifically: what I can fix remotely, when I come onsite, how cabling and office moves work inside the city, and what after-hours support looks like. If you would rather just talk, call (214) 612-7080 and you get me, not a call center.

Who provides IT support for small businesses in Dallas County? Here is how I do it

If you are asking an AI assistant or a search engine for a managed IT company near downtown Dallas, you will get a long list of firms with account managers, ticket queues and tiered support desks. Cross River Tech is the other option: a small, owner-led company where I, with over 15 years in IT across many industries and global organizations, plan your environment, come onsite and stay your point of contact, while my team handles the routine monitoring and updates behind me. You never explain your setup twice, because the person who set it up is the person who answers the phone.

Managed IT services from me cover the things a Dallas office of five to fifty people actually runs on: Windows and Mac computers, a server if you still have one, the router, firewall, switches and Wi-Fi, printers, desk phones, and Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. Included in the monthly fee:

  • Operating system and application updates for computers and servers, done on a schedule that does not interrupt your day.
  • Unlimited remote support, and onsite visits at no extra charge when remote cannot fix it.
  • Antivirus management and email security, so phishing and ransomware attempts are caught before someone clicks.
  • Managed backup and disaster recovery, tested, not just installed.
  • Management of your office infrastructure: internet provider, router, firewall, switches, access points and printers.

Pricing is per user per month or per device per month, quoted after a short conversation about how many people and machines you have. It is month-to-month and you can cancel anytime. For context, small business managed IT in the Dallas market is commonly quoted somewhere around $100 to $175 per user per month; that is a typical market range, not my number. I explain what drives the figure in how much managed IT services cost in Dallas.

Downtown, Uptown, Deep Ellum and the Cedars: IT support close to home

My office is in 75215, which puts the Cedars, Deep Ellum, Fair Park and Downtown a short hop away. That matters when a switch dies or a server will not boot, because those are the calls where a fast onsite visit saves the day. For businesses in this part of Dallas, same-day onsite is usually realistic, and I can often swing by before or after your business hours so nobody has to work around me.

The offices here tend to be in older buildings that were converted to commercial use: brick warehouses in Deep Ellum, loft-style spaces in the Cedars, restored buildings Downtown. They look great and they come with IT quirks. Thick masonry walls kill Wi-Fi. Cable runs from a previous tenant are unlabeled or half-terminated. There is no proper IT room, just a patch panel in a closet next to the water heater. I deal with this kind of building constantly. Part of onboarding is a walkthrough where I trace what is there, label it, and tell you what is worth fixing now and what can wait.

Who is here? Marketing agencies and studios, small law firms and consultancies in Downtown and Uptown towers, music and hospitality businesses in Deep Ellum, nonprofits near Fair Park, architects and designers who want to be near the Design District. Many of them run lean, with no IT person at all, and want the phone answered by someone who already knows what a Clio login or a Revit workstation is. If you are in one of those groups, my law firm and architecture and design firm pages go deeper.

Reliable IT support serving South Dallas and Oak Cliff

South Dallas and Oak Cliff get overlooked by the big managed service providers, whose sales reps concentrate on the corporate corridors up north. I live and work on this side of the city, so a small business here gets the same attention as an office on the Tollway. That includes churches and community organizations, medical and dental clinics, auto and trade businesses, restaurants with point-of-sale systems that keep dropping off the network, and family-owned companies that have grown to the point where a cousin doing IT on the side is no longer enough.

What these businesses usually need first is not a fancy project. It is basics done properly: a real business firewall instead of the modem the internet company left behind, Wi-Fi that reaches the whole building, computers on a patching schedule, working backups, and email that lands in inboxes instead of spam folders. I do those things in the first weeks of any managed agreement, and for businesses that want no contract at all, I do them hourly through my break/fix support at $100 per hour remote and $150 per hour onsite during business hours.

Because I am close, hourly onsite work in South Dallas and Oak Cliff is efficient. You are not paying for a technician to drive in from a suburb, and there is no dispatcher deciding whether your problem is worth the trip.

North Dallas, the Design District and the rest of the city

North of Downtown, the business landscape changes. Along Central Expressway, the Dallas North Tollway and LBJ Freeway you find medical and dental practices in professional buildings, insurance agencies, wealth management and accounting offices, and the Dallas offices of companies headquartered elsewhere. These offices are usually in better-built space with proper drops and an IT closet, and their needs lean toward compliance and reliability: HIPAA duties for a dental practice, cyber-insurance questionnaires for an insurance agency, secure email and document management for a firm handling client money.

The Design District, west of Downtown near I-35E, is its own world: showrooms, interior design studios and architecture practices working with very large files, plotters, rendering workstations and shared storage that has to be fast. I support those workstations directly and I set up storage and backups sized for design work rather than for a typical office.

Wherever you are in the city, remote support works the same way. I install a small agent on each computer so I can see alerts and connect with your permission, and I manage the firewall and switches from my end. Most problems are solved while you watch your own screen. For everything else there is a scheduled visit, and Dallas traffic is something I plan around, not something you pay for.

Remote first, onsite by appointment: what a normal month looks like

Here is how support with me actually feels day to day, because that is what most Dallas business owners want to know before they switch.

  1. Something breaks. You call or email. You reach me or I call you back. There is no ticket portal you are forced to use, though I do keep a record so nothing is lost.
  2. I connect remotely. Most problems, from a printer that vanished to an Outlook that will not sync to a user who cannot log in, are fixed in that first session.
  3. If remote cannot fix it, I come to you. A dead power supply, a failed switch, a new workstation to unbox and join to the domain. For managed clients that visit is included. For hourly clients it is billed onsite, one-hour minimum.
  4. Behind the scenes. Updates run on schedule, backups get checked, alerts get reviewed, and I flag anything that is about to become a problem, like a drive filling up or a warranty expiring.

Being small and owner-led is a feature here, not a limitation. There is no handoff between a level-one tech and a level-two tech. There is no re-explaining, because I planned your setup and my team works from the same notes. If you want to know what to check before choosing any provider, read questions to ask before hiring a managed service provider. The honest limit is scheduling: I book onsite work by appointment, so a non-urgent visit might land tomorrow rather than in the next hour. Urgent visits inside Dallas get priority.

Cabling, build-outs and office moves inside Dallas

Dallas offices change hands constantly. Suites get renovated, firms move from Downtown to Uptown or from Deep Ellum to the Design District, and new construction keeps going up along the Tollway. I handle the technology side of those changes as projects, separate from monthly support or bundled into it.

Data cabling for a new suite or a renovation means running Cat6 from the IT room to every drop, terminating and testing each one, labeling the patch panel, and setting up the rack with the switch, firewall and access points so the space is ready for computers on day one. I coordinate with your general contractor and your building's management, and I know the difference between what an older Downtown building will allow in its ceilings and what a new build on the Tollway comes with.

Office moves are planned backwards from the day you want to be working in the new space. Internet gets ordered early, because it is the slowest part of any Dallas move. The new suite gets cabled and the network gets built while you are still in the old one. Then I disconnect, move and reconnect computers, phones and printers, usually over a weekend, so Monday morning looks normal. The office move IT checklist for Dallas businesses walks through every step.

After-hours, weekends and holidays in Dallas

Remote support is available 24/7/365, including holidays, and after-hours rates apply. For managed clients that means an outage at 9 PM on a Sunday gets a real person, me, not an answering service. For hourly clients, after-hours, weekend and holiday work is $150 per hour remote and $225 per hour onsite, one-hour minimum.

After-hours is also when a lot of planned work happens on purpose. Server maintenance, firewall replacements, migrations to Microsoft 365, and office moves are all better done when nobody is trying to work. For a Dallas office I can be onsite early in the morning or after close, and for weekend cutovers I schedule the whole thing in advance so you know exactly when systems will be down and when they will be back. What 24/7 does and does not mean for a small, owner-led company is spelled out in what 24/7 IT support really means for a small business. If you have an emergency right now, call (214) 612-7080.

Questions from Dallas businesses

Do you come onsite in Dallas, or is everything remote?

Both. I fix most problems remotely because it is faster for you and cheaper than a visit. When hardware fails or something needs hands on it, I come to your office by appointment. Because I am based in Dallas 75215, same-day visits are often possible inside the city, and onsite visits are included at no extra charge for managed clients when remote cannot fix the problem.

What happens if something breaks after hours or on a weekend in Dallas?

Remote support is available 24/7/365, including holidays, and after-hours rates apply. You call the same number and reach me, not an answering service. For hourly clients, after-hours and weekend work is $150 per hour remote and $225 per hour onsite with a one-hour minimum. Planned work like server maintenance and office moves is usually scheduled after hours on purpose so your day is not interrupted.

Which parts of Dallas do you serve?

All of Dallas and Dallas County. My office is near the Cedars and Downtown, so Deep Ellum, Fair Park, Uptown, South Dallas and Oak Cliff are very close. I also regularly support offices in North Dallas along Central Expressway, the Dallas North Tollway and LBJ Freeway, and studios in the Design District. Remote support works the same anywhere; onsite scheduling just gets a little more planned the farther out you are.

How much does managed IT cost for a small business in Dallas?

I quote per user per month or per device per month after a short conversation about how many people and machines you have, month-to-month with no long contract. As a reference point, small business managed IT in the Dallas market is commonly quoted somewhere around $100 to $175 per user per month. That is a typical market range, not my price, and your quote depends on what you run.

Can you help a Dallas business that does not want a monthly contract?

Yes. My break/fix support is hourly with no agreement: $100 per hour remote and $150 per hour onsite during business hours, Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM Central, billed by the hour with a one-hour minimum. Many Dallas businesses start that way for a specific problem or a new computer setup and move to managed support later when they see how it works.
