How I serve Mesquite

Managed IT Services & IT Support in Mesquite, TX

Looking for an IT services provider in Mesquite, Texas? I am Anthony Omini, the owner of Cross River Tech, a small IT company, and Mesquite is one of the closest cities to my Dallas base. I handle computers, servers, networks, phones, printers, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, backups and security for businesses that have nobody on staff to do it. Support is remote-first because that is faster and cheaper for you, and onsite visits are by appointment, which in Mesquite often means the same day.

Mesquite is a practical, family-business city. Along I-30, I-635 and U.S. 80 you find auto dealers and repair shops, trucking and logistics yards, retail around Town East, contractors and trades, churches and nonprofits, and the medical, dental and veterinary practices that serve a large residential population. The rodeo is the thing people outside Dallas County know about Mesquite; the thing I know about it is that most of its businesses are running a network someone's nephew set up and a backup nobody has tested.

This page explains how I support that kind of business, when I come out in person, what cabling and office-move projects look like here, and how after-hours help and pricing work. If you would rather just talk, contact me and I will call you back.

Need an IT services provider in Mesquite?

Call (214) 612-7080 or send a message. Tell me what is broken or what you want to stop worrying about, and I will tell you whether it is a quick remote fix, a visit or a monthly plan.

Mesquite businesses I support and what usually goes wrong

Most Mesquite businesses that call me are not looking for strategy. They are looking for the thing that broke to stop breaking. After enough of those calls, patterns emerge.

  • Auto dealers, repair shops and trades. Estimating and dealer management software on a couple of front-office computers, a shop tablet, a printer that has to work and a phone line that cannot go down. The usual failure is a consumer router doing a commercial job and a computer that has not been updated since it was unboxed.
  • Trucking and logistics. Dispatch software, load boards, ELD portals and early-morning hours. The usual failure is a single internet connection with no backup and nobody managing the firewall.
  • Dental, medical and veterinary practices. Practice management and imaging software, HIPAA duties for the human ones, and a front desk that cannot lose the schedule. The usual failure is an untested backup and a server in a closet nobody opens. The dental practices page and medical practices page cover the specifics.
  • Churches, nonprofits and small professional offices. Donated computers of five different ages, shared passwords and a volunteer who used to handle IT. The usual failure is a compromised email account sending fake invoices to the congregation.

None of these need a large IT department. They need a dependable company where the owner knows their setup, keeps it patched and backed up, and answers when it breaks. That is the job.

Remote-first, and Mesquite is close enough that onsite is quick

Remote first means that when you call, I connect to the affected computer or server over a secure remote session, with your permission, and fix the problem while you watch. Password resets, email that stopped working, a printer that vanished, software that will not open, a slow computer, a phone that will not register: all of that is solved faster from my desk than by anyone driving to you, and you pay for less time.

When the problem is physical, I come out. Mesquite is a short run east from my Dallas base on I-30 or U.S. 80, so same-day onsite visits are often possible when a switch dies, a workstation will not power on or a cable has been cut during a renovation. For managed IT clients, onsite time is included at no extra charge when remote cannot fix the problem. For hourly clients it is $150 per hour during business hours with a one-hour minimum.

If your server is down and the whole office is stopped, that is an emergency, and I treat it like one: I start remotely within the same phone call and head your way if the hardware needs me. My article on emergency IT support when a server is down explains what to do in the first ten minutes before I arrive.

Hourly help or managed IT: the honest choice for a Mesquite business

Many Mesquite businesses start with hourly break/fix support because they have never paid for IT before and do not want a monthly bill. That is a fine place to start, and I do not push anyone into a contract. Hourly help is $100 per hour remote and $150 per hour onsite during business hours, one-hour minimum, no agreement. The hourly support page covers what it includes.

The turning point usually comes after the second or third emergency, when the owner realizes that reacting to failures is costing more than preventing them. Managed IT is a flat monthly fee per user or per device that covers updates, antivirus and email security, managed backup, network management and unlimited remote support, with onsite included when remote cannot fix it. It is month to month, cancel anytime, and quoted after a short conversation about your setup.

My rule of thumb for Mesquite businesses: fewer than five computers and rarely any trouble, stay hourly. More than that, or any patient, client or payment data on your systems, and managed IT is cheaper over a year and far less stressful. I compared the two in detail in hourly vs monthly IT support.

Cabling, shop networks and office moves in Mesquite

A lot of Mesquite's commercial space is older retail and light industrial: shops with an office in front and a bay or yard in back, strip-center suites, standalone buildings on the highway frontage. The network in those spaces is usually a router on a shelf and patch cords stapled along the baseboard. When you are moving in, renovating or simply done with the dropouts, I do the physical network properly.

I run Cat6 from the IT room to every desk, printer, phone, camera and access point location, terminate and test each run, and set up the room with rack, patch panel, switch, firewall and access points. For a shop or a yard, that includes putting an access point where the mechanics actually stand and giving the payment terminal and the main office computer wired drops so they never depend on wireless. The scope is on the data cabling page.

Office moves in Mesquite follow the same sequence as anywhere: I document what you have, order internet for the new address early because carriers take weeks, cable the new space while the old one keeps running, then disconnect, move, reconnect and test everything over a night or weekend. Details are on the office relocation page.

After-hours support for early shops and weekend businesses

Shops open early, trucks roll before dawn, churches are busiest on Sunday and clinics see patients on Saturday. So remote support is available around the clock, every day of the year, including holidays. After-hours rates apply, and I tell you the rate before I start. For hourly clients that is $150 per hour remote and $225 per hour onsite outside Monday to Friday eight to five Central, one-hour minimum.

For managed clients, most after-hours work never becomes a phone call. Updates, backup checks and security monitoring run overnight, and I fix what they flag before you open. When something genuinely breaks on a Sunday morning, you call me directly and I start remotely right away. Onsite visits are scheduled, so I will always tell you honestly when I can be there rather than promising a time I cannot keep. Published rates are on the pricing page.

Questions from Mesquite businesses

Do you come to Mesquite in person or handle everything remotely?

Both. I fix most problems remotely over a secure session while you watch, because it is faster and costs you less. When hardware needs hands I come out, and Mesquite is close enough to my Dallas base that same-day onsite visits are often possible. Managed IT clients pay nothing extra for onsite time when remote cannot fix the problem; hourly clients pay $150 per hour onsite.

Can I get after-hours IT help in Mesquite on a weekend?

Yes. Remote support is available around the clock every day of the year, including holidays, at after-hours rates: $150 per hour remote and $225 per hour onsite for hourly clients, with a one-hour minimum. Managed clients have updates and backups handled overnight on a schedule, and when something breaks on a Saturday or Sunday you reach me directly, not a call center.

Do I need a contract to get IT help in Mesquite?

No. Hourly break/fix support has no contract and no monthly fee: $100 per hour remote and $150 per hour onsite during business hours with a one-hour minimum. Many Mesquite businesses start there. Managed IT, which covers updates, backup, security and unlimited remote support for a flat monthly fee, is month to month and can be canceled anytime, so even that is not a long-term commitment.

The server is down and the office is stopped. How fast can you help?

Call (214) 612-7080. I answer or call back, and I begin working remotely during that same call, which resolves many outages without a visit. If the hardware itself has failed, I head to Mesquite as soon as I can and tell you the realistic arrival window rather than a vague promise. Managed clients with tested backups are usually back up far sooner than businesses that never checked theirs.

Do you support shops and trucking businesses, not just offices?

Yes, and Mesquite has plenty of both. I set up wired drops for payment terminals and dispatch computers, place access points where mechanics and drivers actually use them, manage the firewall and internet connection, and keep the front-office computers patched and backed up. Early hours are not a problem because remote support is available around the clock.
